Villa Lawana is a luxury sanctuary on the blissful island of Koh Samui, set within a lush tropical gardens that border the quiet north of renowned Chaweng Beach, a seven kilometre stretch of powdery white sand. The thinking behind this hotel was to capture the laid back elegance of living beside the sea. The large curved infinity pool practically merges with the sea and is lined with impossibly sleek deckchairs. Just behind this you'll find the villas, a couple of very chic restaurants and the library. The accommodation is chic – not ostentatious in the least – with décor that aims to enhance rather than outshine the surroundings. Expect sumptuous soft furnishings, Asian antiques and fabrics, huge beds, cool marble floors, extensive wardrobes, luxurious bathrooms with large soaking tubs and wooden balconies and decks with soft outdoor daybeds. The hotel has two very different settings for dining: Skyhug sits on the best vantage point of the property overlooking the gulf of Siam and is ideal for your afternoon tea or romantic finger food with music in the background while Ocean Kiss specialises in seafood and shares the same fresh beachfront setting as the infinity pool. To cap it all off, the spa La Malila offers a range of beauty treatments, massages and aqua therapy.

Villa Lawana is situated at the far north of Chaweng Beach and within 10 minutes' drive from Samui International Airport. A few minutes' walk away you can find the nightlife of central Chaweng, the most bustling tourist area on the island but the tucked away position of the hotel means that you're surrounded by the revitalising energy of nature. Downtown Nathorn and its ferry pier are about 20 kilometres distance.
