• Riad à la Belle Étoile, restored to perfection using ancestral materials and techniques, is a beautiful guest house offering intimacy and an insight into the Moroccan way of life. The riad sits at the edge of the medina of Salé beside the Bouregreg river and has a magnificent view of the ocean and medina of Rabat, Salé's twin city. The refinement of the riad's craftsmanship is apparent especially in the colourful tiled mosaic zelliges and the finely-sculpted cedar wood doors opening onto the main patio. The quality of riad can be especially experienced in both of the living rooms which are adorned with antique furniture and sensual wall hangings.

• The riad offers five individually decorated guest rooms with a bathroom, each with a style that evokes a particular Morroccan city. (Rabat, Fes, Marrakech, Khenifra, and Essaouira). Amenities include air conditioning and heating, satellite television, WiFi internet connection and a separate living room in suites only. The restaurant for guests is beautifully decorated with black and yellow zellige and is where Nadia, the in-house chef takes pride in initiating guests into the finest Moroccan home-cooking: wonderfully aromatic and authentic tajines, couscous, soups and salads.

• Riad à la Belle Étoile is situated on the Salé side of the Bouregreg river which separates the twin cities of Rabat and Salé. This beautiful setting provides a wonderful picture postcard view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Oudayas quarter – its cafés looking down on the ocean making it a must-see for visitors. Nearby attractions include the medina of Salé with its souqs and Medrassa (old Koranic schools), the medina of Rabat with its concentration of artesan workshops, the landmarks of Mohammed V Mausoleum and the Hassan V Tower, the boulevard of the Bouregreg river and many others. Access by car is possible right to the doors of the riad and a taxi rank is beside the hotel. The riad is ten minutes drive from Rabat's airport and three quarters of an hour from Casablanca's.
