• Combining convenience, practicality, space, comfort and a wonderfully central location, the Red Brick Apartments make the ideal base in this thriving city, and a great alternative to a conventional hotel. The choice of name will be obvious to you when you see the building, its ornate brickwork making it stand out in the more conventional cityscape. The masterpiece of two celebrated local architects, it was built in the 19th century and today has been skilfully and sympathetically restored to create high-quality hotel apartments. No corners have been cut in the new decoration, and the building retains much of its original grandeur with parquet floors and high ceilings. The reception is open 24 hours a day, and is happy to offer advice on places to visit, as well as organise tours.

• The apartments are all generously sized and have either one or two bedrooms; the largest can accommodate up to six people. Decoration is neutral with cream walls and dark wood furniture. Each apartment has a kitchen equipped with everything that you could need, from dishwasher to plates. It also has a dining space with table. Bathrooms have either a bath or a shower. You will also find the technology that you need to keep in touch, such as a large flat-screen television and internet access. If you're feeling hungry, on the ground floor you will find the trattoria 'La Bella Mamma', which serves filling and delicious traditional Italian food; or, if you prefer, you can order from your apartment. For a drink in a relaxed atmosphere, there is also a traditional pub.

• The Red Brick Apartments are situated on Kurniki Street, not far from the main railway station and just a five-minute walk from the very heart of Cracow Old Town with its vast main square. From here you can easily get to all of the attractions of this most beautiful city, including Wawel Castle. The railway station has a fast connection to the airport in Balice. The hotel is also close to the Galeria Krakowska, the largest shopping centre in the city and the perfect place to pick up some presents.
