• Designed and built in 1948, this charming retreat is an ideal base from which to explore white sands, blue skies, and turquoise waters of stunning Miami Beach. Situated on Ocean Drive and 14th street, and directly across from South Beach, designer Henry Hohauser gives us a shining example of 1940's late Art Deco style, which suggests the upcoming International style of the fifties and sixties. The Penguin Hotel's theme color is blue due to its closeness to the shimmering waters of the Atlantic Ocean and its clean and crisp guestrooms. The hotel lobby houses the renowned Front Porch Café, which has been voted the “best breakfast in town” for many years and features a horizontal railing. Inside, you will also find panoramic strip windows that afford splendid ocean views.
