• Redesigned by the famous Hungarian architect Makovecz Imre, the Best Western Janus Boutique Hotel is a chic, eclectic building, centrally located and perfect for every type of visitor. The exterior of the building gives away its origins- it used to be an old Lutheran chapel and school, and has traditional solid white walls and impressive red tiled spires and turrets. Inside it is richly decorated with plush red patterned carpets, original features like exposed wooden beams and heirlooms like an old gramophone as a final authentic touch. Bold colours and comfortable furniture make this hotel warm and inviting, while the originality of the rooms adds an eccentric touch.

• Each of the hotel’s 29 rooms is uniquely decorated in a different theme. In one room, chic black and white 60s style furniture gives a retro feel; in another, Art Nouveau prints and colours hark back to an age gone by; in yet another, baroque fittings and ornate chandeliers complement heart-shaped pillows and a round, canopied bed. A spa centre is available for guests, with a ‘Cleopatra’ pool and ‘Caeser’ jacuzzi, which can be booked privately at night, both mosaic-tiled and atmospheric. The Janus café, in one of the hotel’s interior courtyards, is the perfect place to enjoy snacks and refreshments.
