A beautifully renovated 16th century building, Lubra Casa Relax is perfectly complemented by the backdrop of the green Sorrentine peninsula and the nearby village of Schiazzano. The name Lubra comes from the Latin 'lubrum' meaning 'Temple of the Mermaids', and legend has it that the sea here was where sirens tried to bewitch Odysseus in Homer’s Odyssey. The hotel itself is charming: three levels of terracotta and stone, colourful plants and country-contemporary interior décor. The hotel has also conserved charming original features like the fresco on the vaulted ceiling of the entrance, the ancient main door, historic sandstone stairway and the mother of pearl inlays.
Just six rooms feature at Lubra Casa Relax, all decorated in cosy country style with Mediterranean and Provencal influences, featuring wooden beams, bespoke bed covers and fresh flowers. You can enjoy the hotel’s roof terrace with wonderful views over the Gulf of Naples and her islands, or wander through the fragrant flower gardens, also the perfect place to taste some local wines, meats and cheeses. The staff will be happy to provide you with anything from a laptop to a packed lunch and are always on hand to help with booking local excursions.
