La Villa Nomade

La Villa Nomade is a truly special riad with great food and highly original rooms, tucked away in the north of Marrakesh's medina. Authenticity is key: local artisans helped to refurbish it and the end result is a charming sanctuary decorated in rich dark colours and, the food is excellent, even by Morocco's high standards. Every afternoon Moroccan tea is served on the terrace or in the salon. Skilled staff ensure a continual and discreet presence.

The 12 rooms and suites are laid out around the patio on two floors. Named after explorers, they have a decidedly adventurous feel and contain custom-made furniture and decorative objects. The breakfast is another great reason for staying here; it consists of fruit, honey crepes and traditional home-made bread, served in the cool courtyard or on the terrace: Miriem, the chef is audacious enough to experiment with Indian, Italian and Thai cuisine, as well as serving Moroccan specialties in the beautiful restaurant. For unwinding, there's a small pool decorated with traditional 'zellij' tiles, and a traditional steam bath located in the adjoining guesthouse, where you can enjoy massage with essential oils, plant-based hair treatments, manicures, and even honey-based hair removal, all with products sourced from an organic farm.

Villa Nomade is located in the north of Marrakech's medina in an area called Bab Taghzout. Jemaa El Fna square is twenty minutes walk. The nearby Bab Taghzout square is a hub for taxis, and it offers a guarded car park.
