Vila Valverde - Design Country Hotel

A renovated 19th century manor house with a beautiful view of Praia da Luz with a very nice design emphasising aesthetics, functionality and comfort. Tastefully enlarged in 2004, the high-level design additions to this country house have maximised the potential of the interiors, whose light colours create a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. What's more, the home is set amidst a 5 ha property planted with a mature tree population, orange trees, its own spring, a small pond and wide panoramic lawns.

The hotel has only 15 rooms where the harmony of materials such as slate, wood and glass provide a comfortable and relaxing ambience. The rooms are generously sized and let in plenty of light. In some rooms, the wall between bathroom and bedroom is glass - which, besides being highly original, creates a unique sense of space. Although Praia da Luz beach is only 900 metres away, the hotel features convenient swimming pool on the grounds of the Villa, an indoor pool with sauna, and a range of massage and therapeutic treatments from a professional physiotherapist. Mountain bike hire, car-rental and tours are also expertly arranged by staff.

The hotel is located 87 km from Faro airport and only 900m from the village of Luz and Praia da Luz beach; the town of Lagos, at 5 km, offers good nightlife and restaurants. The Lagos coastline has a remarkable number of sandy coves and beaches which are ideal for snorkelling, scuba diving, big game fishing and windsurfing. The best golf course near the hotel is Boavista, and there are many more in the immediate area.
