Situated near Bolgheri on the beautiful Tuscan coast, this stylish and exclusive resort combines luxury, design and breathtaking surroundings with one of the most beautiful spas anywhere. Designed as a resort in the 1930s, the striking building has been lovingly restored and modernised to create a particularly refined atmosphere, full of bright airy spaces, designer furniture and elegant works of art. The highlight, however, must be the spa, which specialises in Thalassotherapy, and where, in an enchanting grotto, you can pamper yourself with treatments brimming with the benefits of seawater, sea salts, algae, and sea mud. Hospitality is taken very seriously, and you will find the atmosphere sophisticated yet warm, welcoming and informal.
The rooms and suites are all individually decorated and show a wonderful, eclectic sophistication that in part looks back to the building's 1930s origins. Period designer furniture is mixed with charming ethnic furnishings, rattan futons and warm pastels to create a unique environment. The spa has five seawater treatment pools, each designed for a specific healing purpose, including hydromassage; it also offers beauty and skin-care treatments, saunas and Turkish and Roman baths, and there is also a well-equipped gym. The Corallo restaurant offers high-quality local and Mediterranean dishes prepared with selected ingredients from nearby estates. To switch off completely you can stretch out on the terrace with a glass of wine, or do a few leisurely laps of the pool while taking in the beautiful scenery.
Location
Occupying a privileged position in the middle of the Tuscan coast, the Grand Hotel Tombolo Talasso Resort is surrounded by ancient olive groves, lush forests and wonderful beaches, and makes a wonderful base for exploring the area, with its Etruscan heritage and medieval towns. Livorno is around 70 km away, while Pisa international airport is 80 km, and Florence international airport 150 km. The nearest railway station, Castagneto Carducci-Donoratico, is just 3 km away.
