Located in the heart of Amsterdam�s historical centre, close to major financial institutions and to Dam Square, The Grand Amsterdam is housed in buildings that were once the Dutch Admiralty and City Hall of Amsterdam. This 5 star deluxe hotel is located between two beautiful canals and all accommodations offer either canal view, garden view or views of the 16th century courtyard.
The historical building was originally a convent in the fifteenth century, then a royal inn, before its civic conversion to the Dutch Admiralty and then the City Hall of Amsterdam until 1988. In 1992, it became one of Amsterdam´s exquisite luxury hotels, with 178 rooms including 52 suites, all elegantly furnished and decorated. Please be advised that, for refurbishment purposes, the Spa, the swimming pool, sauna & hammam will be unavailable until end March 2010. A fitness room is available. The concierge will be happy to assist you with alternative arrangements.

The hotel features a brasserie-style restaurant, The Grand Restaurant, a lounge bar, and a beautiful private garden where meals and drinks are served in summer. Guests can also enjoy the fitness centre with its indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, Turkish bath, cardio machines and free weights. 17 banqueting rooms are available for meetings or private functions.
