The Colony Hotel

One of the most photographed Art Deco hotels along famed South Beach, The Colony Hotel is a renovated 1936 hotel that offers an intoxicating ambiance and fun in the sun for guests who just want to get away to relax and enjoy all that Miami Beach has to offer. As the most photographed hotel in all of South Beach, the façade of the Colony Hotel is synonymous with the Art Deco roots and influences of Ocean Drive architecture of the 1930’s. The Colony was one of the first hotels to be constructed by Henry Hohauser, the Art Deco district’s most famous and influential architect, back in 1936. The Hotel has been renovated and remodeled extensively since then but without compromising the integrity of the original building which is included in the National Register of Historic Places. The original pipe railings, the concrete overhangs, and the now world renowned blue neon sign of the Colony Hotel are a present day reminder of the original streetscape which made up the Art Deco district of the 1930’s.

All guestrooms at the Colony Hotel were cosmetically enhanced and upgraded in late 2004 and early 2005. The furnishings and décor are just what guests would expect to find in chic Miami Beach, sensibly basic, yet boldly modern. The aesthetically pleasing guestrooms feature refinished pine hard wood floors, new European low beds and linens, wall mounted or bureau top flatscreen plasma television sets, and custom art deco furniture.
The establishment also has a brand new bar, restaurant & lounge known as the Colony Café which tantalizes senses with fresh salads, wraps and fish dishes. Guests can sit indoors in an intimate setting or indulge in the Miami pasttime of “people watching” whilst sitting back in the Ocean Drive terrace.
