St. George

Rome´s latest 5-star deluxe hotel, the St. George, is a chic makeover of a 15th century Palazzo on Via Giulia, one of the most evocative streets of in the historic city centre. The hotel was designed by Lorenzo Bellini who strived to achieve a timeless atmosphere through the reworking of trends and styles. Interiors maintain a sense of warmth and charm thanks to soft lighting and large, comfortable seating, with rough blocks of Travertine marble being used throughout. The result is a visual delight: a play of textures, and clean profiles; simplicity blended with the majesty of the original historical building.

In the guest rooms there is a sensation of time standing still and guests are pampered by the attention to detail, the views and the furnishing textiles, all of which are magically studied, leaving nothing to chance. The minimal-chic design is further developed throughout the hotel. In the Library soft music provides a discrete backdrop where guests can quietly read a newspaper or a book whilst enjoying a coffee or a homemade pastry. In the Cigar Lounge, cigar enthusiasts can enjoy handmade cigars, specially dehumidified to preserve their flavour and freshness; the Wine Bar, open 24 hours, offers music and a fine selection of wines. The highest and most evocative point of the whole building, is home to the seriously elegant Roof Top Lounge Bar opened during the summer month only. Here in the beautiful atmosphere of an exclusive terrace, you can sip a cocktail and admire the breathtaking and enchanting view over the rooftops, domes and terraces of Rome. Finally, the St. George�s Spa specialises in lavish Roman Bath treatments.

The hotel St. George rises along the distinctive Via Giulia, a street beloved with Romans for its antiques dealers, churches and old noble palazzi, and for the delightful side streets that surround it such as via Del Pellegrino and via Dei Cappellari, still bearing their ancient Sampietrini paving stones.
