The hotel is located on part of the Moorish wall that once surrounded the city, by the remains of one of the ancient towers of St. George's Castle, Porta d'Alfofa. It looks out over the Tagus estuary and has a romantic and peaceful ambiance. Inside, the hotel is decorated in an eclectic mix of modernity and contemporary African artwork hand picked by the owner and resident artist, Luis Lemos. Brightly coloured walls juxtaposition with minimalistic furniture, fresh flowers abound and paintings grace the walls in red, black, orange. In the centre of the building a courtyard reveals a peaceful interior water garden, with pond and verdant plant life growing all around, the perfect place to contemplate or drink your morning coffee before setting off to explore lovely Lisbon.

• The rooms of the Solar Dos Mouros are all decked simply and elegantly, with polished wooden floors and all showcasing original artwork. In some of them you will find unusual sculptures and paintings, bookcases lined with curios, an eclectic and original mix of antique and ultra modern ergonomic furniture, fresh flowers and plants and brightly coloured bedspreads. Many of the rooms have wonderful views of the Tagus and all have the latest amenities.
