Shijia House

Built in traditional South East Asian style, Shijia House is a converted mansion made into just eight exclusive suites. The building is of natural stone with dark wood trimmings, while inside you step into a rich world of dark red tones, mysterious lattice work and foliage which opens up onto a central courtyard where you can sit and enjoy a drink. The interior features traditional Chinese furniture of the Ming and Qing dynasties, 1930s colonial style as well as more modern western additions. The overall effect is one of tropical opulence and style.

The exclusive suites of Shijia House are decorated individually. The walls are painted in deep tones like royal blue, tangerine or vermillion, which perfectly shows off the accessories in gold. Furniture is of darkest teak wood, with textures fabric adorning walls and beds, Chinese artwork and sculptures on the walls and plenty of exotic plants. The bathrooms are of the same high standard with bronze effect sinks and fittings and attention to detail in the decoration.

The area in which Shijia House is located is clean and airy, with wide streets and neat houses and mansions. Many prominent Chinese figures live around here as well as ordinary families, the area gives you a feel of authentic Chinese culture. Very nearby you will find the high street bustling with commercial activity and the Forbidden City is within walking distance. By night enjoy the imperial palace and revel in the romantic atmosphere of the lanterns and their shadows in the royal river.
