• A new design hotel inaugurated in February 2007 in Malaga city centre that embodies the uniqueness of the region with its typically Andalusian name and modern décor. The sixth hotel of the "Room Mate" hotel chain by Enrique Sarasola, Lola sports colourful and design decoration in a new building. The decorator and antiquarian Lorenzo Castillo pays homage to the hotels on the east coast of the United States with 1950s furniture, a theatrical layout and a chromatic range of colours applying turquoise, emerald green and purple to a base of white, black and silver.

• As well as having all of the modern conveniences, the 50 rooms demonstrate the desires of the interior decorator, with spaces heaped with mirrors, decorative paintings, padded and metallic surfaces, and lacquered pieces. The contemporary is mixed with select antique pieces. The Room Mate Lola also has a chill-out and reading zone with WiFi internet connection, a meeting room and private parking. A trendy restaurant-bar is due to open serving delicious Mediterranean dishes and regional specialties.

• Located in the heart of Malaga's commercial district, near the port and Old Town, the Room Mate Lola is an ideal starting point for a tour of the city's museums, for having a wonderful walk by the seaside or just for enjoying the numerous terraces and tapa restaurants in the centre. A good way to start would be to go to the cathedral, located only 450 metres from the hotel or the neighbouring Picasso Museum, only 1 km away.
