Hotel description
Riad La Perle de la Medina is an elegant 18th-century aristocratic house, situated near the monumental Bab Boujloud entrance in Fez' main Medina. A jewel of Moroccan and Islamic architecture, it conjures up all the romance of North Africa. Almost every surface is covered with decoration of one form or another: geometric tilework, horseshoe arches, mosaics, intricate woodcarvings, rich carpets, and finely sculpted arcades together create a sumptuous, splendid atmosphere. This is a space to wander through and wonder at, and the perfect base for your exploration of the area.
The guestrooms (5 rooms and 5 suites) are beautifully decorated, and tease out all the charm of the original building. You can opt for one of the suites which each feature a beautifully decorated Moroccan lounge decorated with "zelliges" (mosaics), carved plaster and filled with sculpted cedar furniture. Rooms are similar but do not have a lounge. Bathrooms are luxurious and feature a bath, shower and washbasins. Also, there are different Moroccan traditional lounges at different levels of the Riad. On the roof, there is an outstanding terrace where you can have breakfast and other meals while enjoying a panoramic view of the Medina.
