Pelican Hotel

An eccentric Boutique hotel launched by the fashion company Diesel, with ostentatiously designed theme rooms in the heart of the famous "Deco District". The Pelican Hotel was originally built in 1939 and was transformed in conjunction with a renowned Swedish designer, strictly maintaining the original façade and name. The result is quite an extravagant and theatrical statement, combining humorous kitsch with a serious design intent, a fun hotel that makes continous and obvious references to the myth of the so-called American Dream.

Within this concept and atmosphere, the 28 rooms have been decorated. All of the rooms have been furnished and named after their own style, each with unique details that one finds in movie sets. The Pelican Hotel's rooms are daringly and wittingly designed and feature a highly individualized theme. Guests can see furnishings from the 40’s, refrigerators from the 30’s, unique furniture and references to underground culture, movies and Disney cartoons. Included into this heady mix are various bizarre details and gags that have to be seen to be believed. This inspiring collection of quirky furnishings is the result of a long search through Florida's antique shops and flea markets. Despite the outrageous quirks, however, each Pelican Room is equipped with wireless Internet access, movies and a CD player and the pristine bathroom fixtures include luxury rainshowers.
The highly acclaimed and visually striking Pelican Café is located just off the lobby and is a favourite spot to wine and dine for fashion celebrities. The Pelican Café's chef focuses his expertise on good Italian food. Guests also have the convenience of wireless internet on the whole property as well as complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas...

The Pelican Hotel is located on the famous Ocean Drive. Miami's endless white sand beaches are located just on the doorstep as well as the famous Art Deco district.
