Hotel description
The world famous designer John Rocha is responsible for the original design of the Morrison, which opened in 1999 with its unique "East Meets West" theme. One of the coolest and most luxurious city centre hotels in Dublin, the Morrison faces directly onto the River Liffey just below the famous Halfpenny Bridge and incorporates an original 18th century Georgian Townhouse façade. The building is in keeping with existing structures along the quays, while its base of Portuguese limestone and gray granite is punctuated with large windows, which fill the Morrison Bar and Halo Restaurant with natural light. Its inviting interior is a mix of high ceilings with pale white walls, original art, stone floors and beautiful grey hand crafted Irish carpets.
The Morrison has recently undergone a significant expansion and refurbishment programme incorporating the hotel’s original accommodation facilities and creating a boutique style hotel with the onus on chic design. In addition to the original bedrooms, a new wing of 48 bedrooms has been added bringing the total number of rooms and suites to 141. The spacious Morrison Bar, located on the ground floor of the hotel overlooking the River Liffey, blends excellent design with the utmost in comfort, features a much talked-about picture of Bob Dylan, and is popular with guests and locals alike. The renowned Halo Restaurant, washed by ever-changing light and shade from its atrium setting provides high standard European cuisine with Irish ingredients.
Location
The Morrison is located in the heart of Dublin’s city centre, overlooking the River Liffey. It is surrounded by Ireland's premier shopping districts, a variety of popular Dublin bars and restaurants and a host of museums, theatres and visitor attractions such as Trinity College.

"I have stayed in this hotel on a number of occassions. The standard rooms at the rear of the Hotel have become shabby and there are no net curtains to offer privacy from apartments directly across from the window."
Caroline R. - Ireland - 01-Sep-09 -
"The room we had we felt was quite small, had no mirror on the wall and not much space for storage for clothes. The kettle had no 'special place' easy to access. Overall it was ok, but perhaps not quite what we had imagined based on the rest of the hotel and prices. However, it was really quiet, ideally located and the bar very pleasant. The service was good."
Helen B. - United Kingdom - 14-Jul-09 -
"I think it would be great if the lights in the bathroom would be more intense, at least at the mirror, as it is difficult to see enough to save or make up."
Pedro B. - Spain - 18-May-09
