Hotel Tomo

Hotel Tomo re-opened in June 2007 to feature Japanese hip in every corner: a manga-inspired hotel in the heart of San Francisco. Although outside San Francisco's tourist and business zones, Japantown is close to each, making it an intriguingly different base. Hotel Tomo is indeed intriguing and is ideal for lovers of Japanese pop... in the lobby, a wall of plasma screens sparkle with anime and monster movies under a muraled ceiling and rooms feature bright murals by the Japan-based artist Heisuke Kitazawa. Hotel Tomo is colourful, hip, friendly and modern: very much in touch with the surrounding neighborhood.

Hotel Tomo has 125 guestrooms in an eight-story building. Guestrooms are not only roomy, bright and comfortable; they are works of art. Each room has its own identity through anime-style wall paintings and views of the city. Located on our first floor, Mum’s is a reasonably priced restaurant popular with locals. Mum’s specializes in shabu-shabu — thinly sliced meat and vegetables cooked at your table in an iron hot pot, and served with savoury, special, house dipping sauces.

Hotel Tomo is right in the center of San Francisco's thriving Japantown, full of authentic shops and culture. You can walk to everything you need and public transportation to other parts of the city is a breeze. More than 30 restaurants of varying international cuisines surround Hotel Tomo. Three municipal bus lines stop within a block of the hotel and provide an excellent service throughout the city.
