Surrounded by its own private garden and sporting a daring avant-garde design, the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I is an institution in Barcelona, a hotel popular with international personalities and travellers with a taste for top notch services. Opened just before the Olympics, it rises 16 storeys at the northern end of the Diagonal in a wealthy neighborhood filled with corporate headquarters, banks, and upscale shopping.
