The Hotel Plaza e de Russie is the oldest hotel in Viareggio and is situated in a very good position overlooking the sea and among the historic theatres and cafes and the elegant liberty-style buildings of the promenade. Built in 1871, it took the name "De Russie" in memory of the Russian nobility that frequented the beaches of Versilia and lived the glories of aristocracy and of the art movements at that time.
All the rooms are elegantly decorated, with air conditioning, direct telephone, satellite TV, minibar and hairdryer. In the lobby at the ground floor there is a cocktail bar overlooking Versilia from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Apuan Alps. With its creative cuisine, the hotel's restaurant is the ideal meeting place at any time of the day. Close to the hotel it is possible to play tennis, golf, horseback riding and all aquatic sports. The hotel also have a private beach.
