Nestled comfortably between the Duomo and the Uffizi Gallery, Hotel Pendini has offered for more than 120 years a superb location for visiting the city. Founded in 1879, the family-owned and family-run Hotel Pendini offers an old-fashioned environment in a distinguished setting. One of the oldest hotels of its kind in Florence, it is located on the fourth floor of an arcaded building in the very centre of town. The atmosphere of an old-fashioned Florentine pensione is intact here, though most bedrooms have been freshly renovated. The public rooms are also delightful and the furnishings throughout are early 19th century antiques or reproductions.

The hotel has 42 single, double, triple, quadruple rooms and family suites for up to 7 people; each furnished with brass or walnut beds, pretty floral wallpaper and pastel carpeting as well as 19th century antiques or reproductions. The accommodations are furthermore equipped with private bathrooms, air conditioning, satellite TV, direct dial telephone and some overlook Piazza della Repubblica square. The breakfast room, now located in a large redecorated room inside the arch, offers a view on the whole via Strozzi and enhances the distinctive atmosphere that makes Hotel Pendini one of the long-enduring favourites among pensione devotees visiting Florence. In the lobby of the hotel you will find a computer available for sending e-mail, 24 hours a day, free of charge. "Even though the entrance is not very inviting the hotel upstairs is lovely and the rooms are big and airy.The adjoining rooms which we had were fantastic for a family and one of the rooms could easily fit 3 single beds in and the other had a kingsize bed as well as plenty of wardrobes."
