• Occupying an elegant building to the north of Cracow, this newly opened hotel promises a peaceful, relaxing getaway, without being too far from the city's historical centre. Located on the site of the former summer palace of the Bishops of Crakow, the current hotel was built at the beginning of the 19th century in charming local style, with neoclassical columns and a hipped roof with dormer windows. The hotel's name, meanwhile, comes from Tadeusz Kościuszko, an early 19th-century patriot of Poland and the United States, and the interior design was inspired by this hero's travels and adventures. This heritage, combined with the fact that there are just 24 rooms, gives the hotel an exclusive feel. And in the evening you can sample superb new interpretations of traditional Polish cuisine in the hotel's restaurant.

• Since the property has just recently been completely refurbished, each of the rooms has been fitted to a high standard of comfort and luxury; all of the Hotel Kościuszko's rooms have air-conditioning and central heating, satellite television, tea and coffee facilities, and broadband internet access, floor and mirror heating in bathroom, while some also have DVD players. The hotel is set in large grounds, which make a perfect place to take a stroll and admire the beautiful surrounding scenery. One of the highlights of the hotel is the Dwór Restaurant, run by the celebrated chef Rafał Targosz, which offers old-fashioned Polish food with plenty of contemporary twists.

• Many of the city's key historical sites – for example, the market square, and Wawel Castle – can be found about 5 km away, in the centre of Cracow, while the 'Kazimierz' Jewish district is about 7 km away, in the southern part of the city. The nearest train station is about 15 minutes' walk away, while Cracow International Airport is less than 20 km away.
