Hotel description
Hotel Kabuki captures the spirit of Japan, with décor of refined beauty combined with a peaceful ambiance that makes it perfect for a romantic getaway. Situated on the main thoroughfare of San Francisco`s Japantown on Post Street, the area is home to over 12,000 citizens of Japanese descent and is home to a number of Japanese restaurants and shops, and is also adjacent to the Fillmore district with restaurants and jazz clubs. Facilities include in-room spa treatments, provided by Japantowns legendary Kabuki Springs and Spa, as well as a newly opened restaurant.
Completely renovated in 2007, the exterior of the hotel`s 16 story tower and five-story garden wing echo the artistry of traditional Japanese architecture while Japanese gardens and a Koi (fish) pond add to the overall aesthetic experience. The Hotel Kabuki`s guestrooms and suites are richly appointed, featuring a combination of elegant furnishings and diffused natural lighting through shoji (rice paper) screens, setting a serene ambience. Sumptuous bathrooms feature deluxe bath amenities and offer a choice between a Western-style tub/shower combination and a furo (deep-tub Japanese bath for soaking and relaxing). For dining, the restaurant is a modern American twist on popular Japanese izakaya houses (drinking establishments that also serve food shared by everyone at a table), and offers original Sake based cocktails.
Location
The hotel is located just minutes from Union Square, as well as many of the city`s leading attractions and cultural offerings including Chinatown, Nob Hill, Fisherman`s Wharf, the San Francisco War Memorial & Performing Arts Center, and Golden Gate Park.

"The hotel looks great and relaxing- very good i wish that i room wasnt next to the housekeeping lady - noise in the morning secondly- if you dont put a sign "dont desterb" at the door the cleaner will nock at your door every morning at 8:30AM even on our "check out" morning.... the stuff very nice expicially JOE the dorman - smily and kind"

"Staff needs to have more training on supplies and cleaning of rooms. No soap for shower, no face towels on 2nd day, coffee cup had dried coffee granules in it. Breakfast buffet was very average for the $18.00 charge. Most concerning and frightening was when the fire alarm went off, and there was no direction from staff. It was a false alarm, but no explanation from PA system or phone call from hotel front desk explaining what happened. I called the front desk and there was no apologies for the inconvenience or that they would send out an announcement to guests. I would still recommend the hotel for its convenience, but staff definitely needs more emergency training and housekeeping training."

"No tea was served upon arrival, no traditional japanese bath stool was in our room...making this hotel rather ordinary when we expected something different"
Delphine J. - France - 05-Jan-09 -
"Hotel très agréable, les chambres sont très confortables avec une literie excellente."
Veronique V. - France - 31-Oct-08 -
"Very charming. We LOVED the Izakaya Lounge and ate there several times. The water garden off the lobby was an oasis of calm in the middle of the city, as was my Japanese-style bath."
Edward S. - United States - 24-Oct-08 -
"Positives: The staff was very attentive and professional. The room was very clean and inviting. Negatives: The room was not sufficiently soundproofed. There was excessive noise from street traffic and the room next door in which people were partying until 2 or 3 a.m. Also, I was disappointed by the lack of a newsstand or sundries store in the hotel."
Richard P. - United States - 23-Sep-08 -
"Hôtel calme, service discret et efficace"
JEAN-CLAUDE T. - France - 22-Sep-08 -

"Fantastic hotel a little different with the flavour of Japan"
Sue D. - United Kingdom - 03-Aug-08 -
"Beautifull room and a great price."
Charlotte P. - United States - 13-Jul-08 -
"Hotel exceeded my expectations! Bathrooms in hotel rooms are wonderfully large. Balcony views were great too! Highly recommend parking at the under ground garage to cut costs. Just a small walk from shops and restaurants…one of them is open for 24 hours! Excellent security at hotel and in the parking garage. In room safes are a great touch along with ipod alarm clocks. Very clean hotel. All around great stay at this location."
Diane C. - United States - 07-Jul-08 -
"Our stay was special and we will return."
Louis D. - United States - 23-May-08 -
"The staff was very friendly and the common grounds of the hotel are beautiful. If you're a lover of Asian culture and cuisine, then this place is perfect because it's right in the heart of it. The rooms are nice (especially the bathroom)"
Kristina S. - United States - 01-May-08 -
"It was located just where we needed it to be. Every thing was clean and just right"
