Hotel El Minzah

In Tangier, the El Minzah hotel is a real institution. Since its launching in April 1930 by the British aristocrat Lord Bute, this hotel distinguished itself by its Hispano-moorish style, following the traditional and pure Moroccan lines. Situated on the straits of Gibraltar, where Europe and Africa almost touch, the El Minzah was the fashionable heart of "International Tangiers". It was then that the hotel first acquired its deserved reputation.The elegance of El Minzah has attracted celebrities such as Kings Juan Carlos of Spain, Michael of Roumania, and Sir Winston Churchill. In the luxuriant gardens, are beds of roses and giant geraniums, lilies, hibiscus and countless exotic plants. The immaculate lawns are shaded by palm, orange and eucalyptus trees.
