Hotel description

A bright and airy, ultra-modern building designed by prize winning architect Renzo Piano, the Italian architect most famous for his work on the Pompidou Centre, the Hotel de la Cité opened in November 2006 and is one of Lyon's newest hotels. It is set between the river Rhône and the vast Tête d'Or park, at the heart of the famous urban and architectural project known as Cité Internationale.

The spacious guest rooms enjoys panoramic views of the river from huge glass windows and are tastefully decorated in calming shades of mocha and cream, with sleek furniture and state of the art, flat screen LCD TVs. When the workday is over guests may choose to unwind in the trendy Backstage Bar, or savour the exceptional cuisine of the fashionable Restaurant La Scene.

Hotel de la Cité is ideally located for access to the Centre de Congrès de Lyon, the city's premier conference venue, immediately adjacent to the hotel. For those wishing to sample the famous gastronomy and charms of Lyon, a mere 5 minute taxi ride will take you to the heart of the old town.
