Hotel Britania is an authentic Boutique Art Deco hotel in the historic centre of Lisbon. The only surviving original Art Deco hotel in Lisbon, with a touch of modern whimsical nuances. With large rooms and located in a quiet street just off Lisbon's main avenue Avenida da Liberdade. Located in a building designed in the 1940s by the famous Portuguese architect, Cassiano Branco, this hotel is unique. Recently restored in its original Art Deco style and ambiance, it provides not only genuine period surroundings but also all the comfort and facilities required in the world of today.
The entrance hall gives direct access to the bar with its lively atmosphere humming with conversation in contrast to the quiet relaxing atmosphere of the lounge which invites one just to read, to listen to music or simply to sit and watch the open fire burning in the grate. The rooms are spacious with beautiful warm-coloured furnishings, classical furniture and exquisite marble period bathrooms restored down to the smallest detail. The size and atmosphere of this hotel give it the air of an exclusive club in which each guest is a member warmly welcomed on arrival and sadly missed on departure.
