Hotel description

Hotel Barcelona Center opened its doors in 2006 in the centre of Barcelona on one of the main roads in Ensanche or Eixample, a district known for its emblematic wide avenues and high concentration of Art Nouveau architecture. The hotel sets out to be one of the best in its category by combining an outstanding location with high quality accommodation. The hotel also provides a number of large high tech meeting rooms and is an ideal choice for business meetings and social events of all kinds.

Its rooms and suites share quality, comfort and functionality in equal measures, are spacious and come equipped with upscale amenities for today's demanding guests such as free Internet access. The rest of the facilities are excellent: the lobby bar is a typical cafeteria which becomes an a-la-carte restaurant at midday and in the evening. Corporate services on offer include a business centre with four meeting rooms equipped with state of the art amenities. In addition, guests enjoy free access to the hotel gym which has a weights room and sauna, as well as two rooftop Jacuzzis.

Hotel Barcelona Center is located on the corner of Mallorca and Balmes which is a strategic location due to its proximity to Paseo de Gracia, Plaza de Cataluña and the Ramblas, all within walking distance. The city centre's main shopping and business areas are also right on the doorstep. The hotel enjoys excellent links to public transport, a taxi stop is just 50 metres from the hotel, a bus stop 25 metres and a metro station is 150 metres away. Prat International Airport is 15 kilometres away.

"We thought the breakfast room could be more friendly. We could not alter the height or angle of the shower. I found the pillows to be uncomfortable, (but I know i'm fussy about pillows. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Overall comfortable & adequate for a short stay."
