Hotel description

The Hotel Barceló Raval situated in the heart of the city, has a singular oval structure and avant-garde interior design - all you need to enjoy Barcelona in style. Just around the corner from the Boquería market on the Ramblas, and five minutes walk away from contemporary art museums the MACBA and CCCB. Hotel Barceló Raval is right at the heart of the Raval district: once gritty but now the city's most dynamic area and the striking hotel building is itself a symbol of the revamped area. Interiors are refreshingly simple and stimulating with plenty of white minimalist design set off by ample sunlight. There are also many other stylish touches throughout. Add to this a cosmopolitan lounge where you (and the locals) can enjoy tapas and cocktails and walk out onto a small outdoor terrace and soak up the lively atmosphere.

The rooms are a fine example of simple sophistication and have a minimalist feel to them. Each has cream white and dark walls and furniture, and very comfy beds, plus iPod chargers, Nespresso coffee machines, and WiFi internet access. An interesting feature is the 'technology pole', which has all the connections you need to get straight down to work. If you want to relax, there's a very handy gymnasium and swimming pool with a sundeck. Head to the lounge bar for a drink or get a 360º bird's eye view of the city from the terrace. Finally, the hotel provides indoor parking, a great thing to have in the city centre, as well as well-lit meeting rooms if you're here on business.

Location

Hotel Barceló Raval is located just off the Rambla del Raval, around which you will find a number of interesting restaurants and the city's most dynamic nightspots. The location is also very central: Plaça Catalunya and the Gothic District are about 5 minutes walk away. If you're taking the metro, Liceu on the green line or Sant Antoni on the purple line are the closest stops. The airport is just 20 minutes' away by taxi.

Además tiene infra-estructuras que están desaprovechadas como la piscina, que solamente abre hasta las 6 de la tarde y ni siquiera tiene servicio de toallas. La deberian de abrir hasta las 8 o 9 para que los clientes del hotel puedan utilizarla. También pedimos para hacer un late check-out y nos has dicho que eran 20 euros cada hora adicional. Me parece poco razonable, tratandose de un hotel de este tipo."

I found the breakfasts to be realllly too expensive for what was offered, especially when you can grab something outside foro much cheaper. The staff was always helpful, and the area of the hotel was very cool, although its true that some surroundings are sketchy, i never felt in danger and people are just overall nice. i would seriously recommend this hotel."
