The Bairro Alto Hotel reflects a fusion of old and new and pays homage to the country's diverse architectural designers. The result is one of comfort and nostalgia, as if it had like that for years. In 1980, six years after the Portuguese revolution in 1974, the Hotel de l'Europe closed. In February 2001 it was bought by the present owners with two key objectives in mind: to return the hotel to its former glory and to re-establish its former position in the international hotel and tourism market.

The stylish Flores restaurant, serving contemporary cuisine prepared by the chef Henrique Sá Pessoa embraces the cuisine of the past Portuguese colonies and fuses them with oriental and international flavours. A terrace for al fresco dining is also available. The casual Garrett Cafe Bar offers light lunch and dinner, as well as refreshing cocktails. Bairro Alto hotel offers a fitness center with gymnasium, a massage room on the fifth floor and a panoramic terrace with views over the Tagus River to enjoy the sunset during your stay in Lisbon.
