• The luxurious Clarion Hotel Sign has an exceptional concept – to act as a showcase for Scandinavian architecture and design. Beginning, of course, with the building itself. Designed by Swedish architect Gert Wingårdh, this spectacular structure is already a landmark in the very heart of Stockholm, its angular façade instantly recognisable and promising something out of the ordinary. The hotel’s interior is perhaps even more interesting – for among the glass and light wood every space and room is furnished with classic Scandinavian furniture from designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Alvar Aalto and Bruno Mathsson. However, the hotel's agenda goes beyond the aesthetic, to encompass excellent New York-inspired food and a wonderful rooftop spa, health complex and swimming pool.

• As you might expect, the design of each hotel room has been carefully considered. Aside from the designer furniture, you will find extremely comfortable beds, flat-screen televisions and a complimentary WiFi internet connection. Rooms are spacious and decorated in whites and pale colours, with the occasional splash of strong colour. Walls are adorned with classic Scandinavian black and white photography, including work by some of the biggest names. Dining at the Aquavit Grill & Raw Bar – a Scandinavian restaurant from New York that combines unpretentiousness Scandinavian flavours with Manhattan pulse – is quite an experience, and is open for brunch, lunch and dinner. Meanwhile the rooftop Selma CitySpa+ offers a little more than a typical fitness centre. Here you will find a sauna, gym, personal training, relaxation areas, sun terraces and a heated outdoor pool – all with a panoramic view over Stockholm city!
