A traditional wooden house from the late Ottoman period, Avicenna Hotel is a beautifully unique hotel with a superb location in the heart of the old city, Sultanahmet. Built in the 19th century, the residence originally belonged to a member of the Ottoman elite. Behind a dazzling white neo-classical façade, the interior is a mix of white and dark wood and marble floors with Turkish carpets and kilims. There is a shady inner patio where breakfast is served, perfect for relaxing and soaking up the historic ambience; there is a romantic restaurant overlooking the Marmara Sea; and 48 rooms on two floors (some of which have wonderful views).

There are 48 rooms, ranging from a well-equipped standard room without a balcony to the Elegance and Executive rooms with upgraded décor and balconies, as well as some extra amenities. Each one is different, though all feature air con, LCD multi-channel TVs and complimentary wireless Internet. A buffet breakfast is taken in the authentic breakfast lounge or the garden. Both restaurants, Sipsi and the breakfast room, are Ottoman style with period wall tiles. The wooden inner garden has a warm atmosphere ideal for sipping Turkish coffee or herbal teas with pastries and cakes.
