Hotel description

For its beachfront location and emblematic architecture, the Avalon is a classic favorite located on South Beach's famous Ocean Drive. This three-story hotel was built in 1941 and renovated in 1997. It boasts 58 Art Deco-styled rooms as well as an Art Deco lobby bar. Its chief lure is its location. Visitors to Miami choose this property because it is just steps from the nightclubs, restaurants and bars of Ocean Drive. It is also right across the street from the beach.

Rooms are unpretentious and have a fresh new feel with cushy pillows and quilted down duvets. As an added bonus, they all feature an iPod docking station. A complimentary continental breakfast is served in the breakfast lounge. While there's no gym or pool on the property, guests can use both at the nearby South Seas Hotel. The hotel's popular seafood restaurant, A Fish Called Avalon, offers an outside terrace where diners can engage in the chief activity of South Beach–people-watching.

Location

Located on Ocean Drive at 7th Street, the Avalon puts you right in the middle of the area's cafés, restaurants, bars, club scene, shopping, and of course the beach. The Convention Center is a few blocks north on Washington Avenue and the famous Lincoln Road Mall is even closer. Miami International Airport and the cruise port are minutes away.
